The soil of the field was tested through our Mobile Soil Testing Laboratory, Puri and was analyzed for Lime Requirement & Micro Nutrients at PPL Static Lab , Bhubaneswar. The Soil was severely acidic with pH of 4.6. The status of available Phosphorus (12 Kg/Ha), Zinc (0.2ppm) & Boron (0.15ppm) was also low.

Lime treatment of the acidic soil was done before puddling @ 2 quintal lime per acre. Fertiliser was applied as per soil test recommendation (DAP-35Kg, MOP-33 Kg & Urea-55 Kg). Zypmite Plus (Soil conditioner enriched with S, Ca, Zn, B) was applied basally @ 50Kg/Acre. The farmer has grown Pratikshya (HYV Paddy) in the demo. plot. The plot was compared with a control plot grown by farmer’s practice of same variety

The crop in the demonstration plot was having luxuriant vegetative growth which was admired my fellow farmers, Govt. officials & visiting Soil scientists from Nepal.
